I cannot say enough good things about Bobby Howell. This summer we purchased a 3 year Quarter horse for our daughter. This horse went straight to Bobby. Watching his progress with Bobby was amazing! Bobby has a special way with horses. Not only did the horse progress beautifully with Bobby, my daughter and I learned so much. Anytime that we were there Bobby took the time to answer a lot of questions and he took the time to work with my daughter with the horse. We have had "Jasper" home a few weeks and he is a joy. My husband and I have known Bobby since 2006, first as our farrier and secondly as our trainer. He also provides our barn with 200 bales of hay yearly. We sent a couple of horses to him that just needed "tuning" up or had a problem that needed to be fixed. My husband's horse, Pusher, really was scared of anything around his legs and bolted over small logs and twigs on the trail. Bobby rectified that and Pusher's skittishness He also has taken another problem horse of ours a couple of times. Recently, he took a new horse we received from Pennsylvania in March that had very little saddle time. He is a draft and was used as an Amish cart horse. The transformation of Felix was amazing after being with Bobby for just two months. Felix just didn't know what to think of the whole saddle thing and being ridden. He held his breath a lot, was tense, and pulled back and broke many cross ties, halters, and snaps on lead ropes. He now looks for the attention and enjoys his time with ground work and under saddle. He would make a lovely dressage prospect and likes the contact through the reins. This past weekend Felix did his first hunter pace and did really well. The weekend before that he attended an ACTHA event as a buddy rider. We didn't do the obstacles, but it was great exposure for him. This weekend he goes on a weekend camping trip to Virginia. I have to give a hand to Bobby's children. I think with them always loving on Felix and petting him, he got to know that "hands-on" can be just a pleasant gesture. In the past he didn't look for rubs or pats; now he puts his big head down to be rubbed and loved. He's my gentle giant and thanks to Bobby, he has been started off with a very positive, non-abusive method and communication through heart from horse to rider and vice versa. Linda

For the past 13 years or so I've had Bobby work with 4 of my horses. His talent is incredible and he definitely has a gentle yet insistent way with horses. He manages to tailor his training technique to each individual horse. I've yet to see one he couldn't bring the best out of. Mr. Parelli would be proud! Janice

Our three horses are our babies. We would not trust anyone else but Bobby Howell with our babies. He has a kind, caring, and gentle way about him but the horses know he is in charge. Bobby's extensive knowledge of horses and how to train them is reflected in the way our babies behave. He has been working with our horses for years and has just as much enthusiasm with them as the first time he saw them. He is truly the best trainer and farrier around. Grace
